Raising over $100,000 in only 3 events has been humbling. The enthusiasm from all of our guests, donors & industry leaders propel us further to achieve our initiatives & continue our partnership with the RONALD MCDONALD HOUSE CHARITIES ALBERTA.
MAY 2024: We confirmed an independent unit within an apartment complex, neighbouring the Edmonton House. The additional unit allows RMHC Alberta to address the waiting list and offer families a place to stay, and remain connected to the services provided by the organization (including meals and transportation).
NOVEMBER 2024: WE DID IT!! The apartment unit has been renovated & furnished TOP TO BOTTOM! This extra space allows @RMHCalberta to address the huge wait list they see every day, and provide families a safe place while dealing with medical crises at the Stollery Children’s hospital. We are grateful we get to do this important work because of our community of support.
NOVEMBER 2025: We acquired another apartment for @RMHC Edmonton. Renovations began & a new apartment is underway! This unit is in the same building and is a great addition for families needing a home away from home! We are hoping to have it ready in February 2026.
Meeting only 14% of the demand, at least three families check into an Alberta Ronald McDonald House every day. RMHC Alberta alleviates the tremendous emotional, financial, and physical burdens that families face during these difficult times but more space is critical.
We are extending the invite to all industry suppliers, builders, and trades to help us with the design and renovation of the unit. This includes paint, flooring, kitchen and bathroom countertops, appliances, door locks, smoke alarms, decor and window coverings. Insurance for the property will also be needed.
Your generosity & contributions to THE BUILD PROJECT FOUNDATION will help us to continue to provide & upkeep this unit as well as acquire additional units for future use.
